Last week, our Gainesville-Athens Managing attorney Wendy Glasbrenner received the Judge A.R. Kenyon Award at the Gainesville-Northeastern Bar Association Law Day Luncheon. This prestigious award is given annually to a local lawyer whose career has exemplified professionalism, integrity, excellence in the profession and dedication to the public good.
Our Director of Litigation Lisa Krisher congratulated Wendy on this achievement. “This is well-deserved recognition for Wendy’s 40-year career at GLSP. Georgia Legal Services Program (GLSP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation funded in part by the Legal Services Corporation (LSC). As a condition of the funding it receives from LSC, it is restricted from engaging in certain activities in all of its legal work – including work supported by other funding sources. GLSP may not expend any funds for any activity prohibited by the Legal Services Corporation Act, 42 U.S.C.2996 et seq. or by Public Law 104-134. Public Law 104-134 § 504 (d) requires that notice of these restrictions be given to all funders of programs funded by the Legal Services Corporation.
